Kate began her entrepreneurial career at just 23, transforming her wine retail and internet business into one of New Zealand’s largest independent wine retailers. Her hands-on management style and keen business acumen were key to this success.
After selling her wine business in 2007, Kate didn't rest for long. She quickly identified a new opportunity and co-founded Pimp My Lawn with Nick, starting with a small team and a single van in Hawke’s Bay. The initial response was overwhelmingly positive, exceeding expectations in the first month.
After 18 years at the helm, Kate’s main role now is strategic planning which has been pivotal in driving Pimp my Lawn's sustained success. She continues to have a direct engagement with the financial aspects of the business and always knows exactly where we are up too! Her ability to combine strategic foresight with hands-on financial management ensures that the company remains agile and always aligned with its goals.
Beyond her professional life, Kate indulges in hobbies like cooking, golf, fishing, and cheese making and she is also very obsessed with her lawn!
