Michael Connor - Franchise Owner and Operator, Pimp my Lawn Hastings

Mick joined us in November 2010 after he left Sacred Hill Winery where he was their head viticulturist. Lucky for us! We couldn’t have asked for a more practical, knowledgeable and motivated person to join Pimp my Lawn. Mick and his wife Andrea are first time callers when it comes to owning and operating a small business, but we know from their commitment, courage and enthusiasm this far, that success is assured for them. With plenty of practical knowledge and hands on experience when it comes to handling chemicals, managing pests, weeds and disease, you can expect a first rate lawn and service from Mick.

Mick grew up in Hawkes Bay and there are very few people he doesn't know. He attended Lindisfarne College and completed his Viticultural and Winemaking course at Hawkes Bay Polytechnic. Some 22 years later he's amassed some great achievements. He's worked with the big guns like Morton Estate, Sacred Hill and spent several years with the prestigious Marlbrough Winery, Spy Valley Wines. To prove he knew what he was doing, he won a Romeo Bragato Trophy in 2009 for Sacred Hill's Flagship Helmsman Cabernet Merlot.
When Mick's not at work, he's normally chasing his kids around the sports fields. He has two children, Sam and Brianna. Sam is a keen sportsman so Mick finds himself on the Hastings Rugby and Sport Junior Rugby Committee and Pimp my Lawn is now a proud sponsor of Sam's junior rugby team!

Sam and Brianna also remain Pimp my lawn's biggest fans. Sam used to be the cover boy on our brochure and he still has the bug. It's not uncommon to see both Sam and Brianna on bikes during School holidays with baskets full of brochures distributing them for Dad!

Aside from grass, Mick also likes to shoot ducks and deer and rugby's is a keen interest.
